Get Life: Playing the Game

Has life ever felt like a game to you? Roll the dice, move back a square, get an extra turn, get out of jail free?  Get beat, win, call someone a cheater, be a cheater?  Blow a chance?

I admit there is a game of a social website I enjoy playing.  I consider it "stress reduction."  You only get five chances to win and then you have to wait to "Get Life" so  you can keep playing. Of course, you can purchase credits, but I am too cheap to do that.   I will wait for the time to elapse and get busy doing something I need to get done.

Sometimes, I wish I could "Get Life" and move forward a little faster. Maybe this time, I will win the game! Maybe I should invest a little and buy a second (or 100th) chance to move forward.

Games sure can be fun and they can be frustrating too. It is interesting that humans love all kinds of games, whether they be formal sports, chance games, games of strategy, or games of skills.  We seem to be programmed to like to win and games teach us how to win and loss and not be crass about either.  They teacher us how to play together, be social, how not to make the same errors twice (hopefully).  They also teach us that, sometimes, the other players win and beat us in spite of our very best efforts.  Some people are players.  They are out for the game and don't care who they hurt or how they win.  Avoid these, if at all possible. Some people want to be the rule keeper, the banker...just be in control (or at least feel like they are.  Others just want to play and have fun.

Right now, I just would like go get a little "more life. I have much to do before the game is over.
